When it comes to professional inclinations, I consider myself a researcher and a software developer. My CV can testify to that. It took me a while to find out that in the end I cannot be one of the two without also being the other. When I program, I dream about using the program, and when I do research I want to build software tools to support my work. During my previous project, Andrea Scharnhorst introduced me to data visualization, which not only fascinates me in itself, but also seems an excellent opportunity to develop this crossroads between research and software development. In 2014, I started working on the SWINNO database. Part of my job is to turn it from a spreadsheet into a relational database. When that is done, it would be interesting to start thinking about the visualization of innovation data.
